Appreciate the insight. Maybe I should see how hill sprints work with my crappy knees.

Excellent, Dan, very fun stuff. I’m with ya all the way, including sprints and hill sprints, which I’ve been working on for about a month. I had no idea you were so far along on the new book!

Nice shirt! Does that give this video a PG rating for Gaelic speakers?

Dan, I absolutely adore the Póg mo thóin t-shirt! I adore how much you enjoy Ireland and it’s culture and sport! for this dedication (I assume in part, mostly, to Adrian) I have vowed to dedicate a large portion of my time to KB work, sprinting and felling better. I can’t thank you enough for this! but here it is anyway… thank you for everything Coach. please Never Let Go
also, please come back to Eire in 2012 (when I’m back from my travels!!)

Love the t-shirt.

I’ve been using the excuse of too much snow to do hill sprints. No more excuses and I will start them again.

Haven’t done hills in a while now. I’m lucky enough to have a steep 40 yard driveway, so I guess I’ll just write back after I barf. Thanks Dan.

From another 50+ year old, I understand the injury/recovery concern. As to trainers, I’m getting tired of mine (me). Would like to have someone to help in that regard. But on the positive, I’m getting ready to go outside and hill sprint when it warms enough and I can stop shoveling snow. Looking forward to that.
The shirt is hilarious!

My brain has been dancing around the idea of hills again oddly enough amongst doing more workouts, which have been seriously lacking as of late, but I think it’s coming around again. Im definitely getting my motivation back, so perhaps there will be some hills in the near future. Hey Dan, what’s that? look, over there ………….. GO!!!!
I love hill sprints, they’re so challenging and invigorating and just knock the shit of me, which I love that feeling. I often use an old pair of 10 lb. iron dumbbells while I’m doing ‘em. I use them for a sprint or two then drop em and do the following. Sprints zig-zag up the side of a hill like a snaking S. Also love the crossover X runs, backward running, leaping runs. The crazier people look at me the better job I know I’m doing. Thanks Dan, for all the great, down to earth advice. That’s how to do it.

Great common sense blog Dan. Do you do hills on specific days of the week?

Dan John. . . I love you.

Dan,
Sounds like you live in a hilly place…lucky.
This is my favourite hill sprint workout
